Weddings in Woodinville

On Sunday, January 27th, Fena Flowers took part in the 4th annual "Weddings in Woodinville" show. Prospective brides and grooms are chauffeured between seven of Woodinville's most popular wedding venues where they can taste the food, visit with vendors, and get a sense of what each location looks like when fully decorated. Fena Flowers was in charge of the flowers at Novelty Hill + Januik Winery. Despite gray, wintry conditions that left the courtyard trees bare, the tasting room was full of warmth and light. Glittering ranks of glasses awaited wine tasters, vases of submerged blooms decorated tasting room tables, and even the barrel room was ready for the party, with pink lights giving the barrels a playful splash of color.

Event designer Jennifer Taylor had chosen the theme "Blushing Baroque" for the event, with the aim of transforming the sleek, modern Terrace Room into an extravagant and exuberant riot of black, gold, hot pink, and coral. Fena Flowers was called on to fill the space with blooms that fit this fun theme.

Hot pink and yellow spray roses, soft pink roses, medium pink hydrangeas, "Pink Mink" proteas, pink cymbidium orchids, and yellow acacia bring the "Blushing Baroque" theme to life!

Fena Flowers was very excited to be able to hang arrangements from the rafters of the Terrace Room for the first time. Long arrangements piled with pink and yellow blooms, dripping with orchids, and sparkling with garlands of tiny yellow lights helped fill the space above the black-topped tables with texture and color. Fena hopes to replicate this fabulous look in the future!

Hanging arrangements fill the air with color and texture.

The arrangements were composed of hot pink spray roses, pink roses, medium pink hydrangeas,  white dendrobium orchids, forsythia, myrtle, and yellow garland lights.

The far end of the Terrace Room was transformed by golden drapery into a wedding chapel. Standing arrangements stood sentinel at the doorway and flower-decked stands flanked by tall vases formed an altar area. An elaborate design in hot pink rose petals decorated the floor.

Flowers, drapery, and dramatic lighting create an intimate and exotic wedding chapel.

Scattered throughout the room were dining tables covered with striped linens, pink and white place settings, votives, favors, and Fena Flowers centerpieces.

Each chair at the table was decorated with a black satin chair tie and an orchid blossom.

Smart-looking favors in hot pink and black decorated some of the table's square plates.

Lighting played a huge part in the Terrace Room's transformation. Pink and purple lights bathed the gray, modernist, concrete walls with color. Subtle lighting of the chapel's satiny walls and hidden purple lights above its fabric ceiling imbued the space with mystery and drama. It was astonishing to see what a difference light can make!

A purple light against the wall provides a colorful backdrop for a bistro table swathed with black cloth and secured with a boldly-patterned black and white bow.

The walls of the Terrace Room were lined with tables where vendors had set up examples of their wares and information about their services. Many of these tables also were dressed up with a Fena arrangement, each in a different style. Jewelers, bakers, personalized accessory makers, and an officiant were among the different vendors whose displays brightened the room. Fena Flowers, whose floral designs contributed much to the room's decor, needed only a simple display on their table beneath the big Fena sign.

The 2013 Weddings in Woodinville was a memorable show, which successfully showcased how a venue can be transformed with the help of linens, lighting, and some exceptional floral design. Fena Flowers was very glad to be a part of it!

Glassybaby votives scattered throughout the room contributed to its romantic ambience.

A memorable display!
